Centurion Magazine – Boutique Bliss on Lake Como

On the shores of Lake Como, an intimate ensemble of villas with noble family history

Nine suites are the heart and soul of Villa Lário, a 19th century property that hides the luxury of a five star hotel behind its unassuming, classic Italian exterior.

Previously owned by the noble Lombardi family, Villa Lário is the latest boutique property on the spectacular Lago di Como – ‘intensely’ private with three different stays on the estate: Villa Bianca, Pavilion and Garden Suite.

Adjacent to the horizon pool and overlooking meticulously manicured gardens, Villa Bianca comprises four suites, private terraces and charmingly typical Lombard ‘balconcinos’.

Towering above the lake on the cliffs, the 120sq m Pavilion includes its own private entrance, boasting panoramic views from the comforts of a living room, dining room, kitchen and garden alongside two bedrooms.

With direct lake access and nestled between water and cliffs, Garden Suite is the most secluded and ‘secret’ of the lot. Surrounding by historical gardens, this 55sq m home is bathed in warm earthy tones and features a reading room and private garden.

Dine at Villa Lário’s restaurant, where homemade pasta, fresh fish and regional ingredients have the kitchen in a flurry of aromas. While ideal for larger events and festivities, time-out on the lounge deck atop the 20m-infinity pool or a cruise on one of the house’s boats for a refreshing morning swim.
